The Katrina Decade

Artist: David G. Spielman

Project: The Katrina Decade

Description: In the ten years that have passed since Hurricane Katrina, David G. Spielman has documented New Orleans’s ever-changing landscape in haunting black-and-white haunting images that chronicle endurance, neglect, and recovery.

David G. Spielman’s  The Katrina Decade: Images of an Altered City is now available. The book features more than 125 black-and-white images plus essays by Spielman, the photography historian John H. Lawrence, and historical preservationist Jack Davis. An exhibition of the works will be on view at THNOC’s Laura Simon Nelson Gallery for Louisiana Art until January 9, 2016.
