Channing Gerard Joseph is a Black queer historian and journalist who specializes in race and sexuality. He is the winner of a Whiting Creative Nonfiction Grant, a Leon Levy Center for Biography Fellowship, and a Logan Nonfiction Fellowship for his forthcoming book, House of Swann: Where Slaves Became Queens—and Changed the World.
