Joi Gilliam

About

Pioneering, progressive soul funk innovator Joi Gilliam is a multidisciplinary artist from Nashville, Tennessee, but is professionally affiliated with Atlanta, Georgia, where she lived for twenty years becoming a bricklayer, connector, and creative leader of music, culture, and fashion. Debuting with the critically acclaimed, genre-defying album The Pendulum Vibe in 1994, Joi broke barriers and shifted mindsets that furthered the trajectory of freedom and nonconformity in Black music including unapologetic sexual positivity. She currently resides in Los Angeles and is a doting mother of one daughter, Keypsiia Blue Daydreamer. Her full discography and other works are available at alljoieverything.com.
