Melanie McGee Bianchi is a journalist and fiction writer who has lived in Asheville, North Carolina, since 1992. She is the editor of two magazines, Asheville Made and Carolina Home + Garden, and is the author of the book The Ballad of Cherrystoke and Other Stories (Blackwater Press, 2022). Her most recent piece of fiction, the prizewinning story “Gertrude’s Favorite Pfeffernüsse,” was published in August 2024 in The Irish Times online.
