Rahawa Haile is an Eritrean American writer from Miami, Florida. Her work has appeared in the New York Times Magazine, the New Yorker, Outside, Rolling Stone, Audubon, Pitchfork, AFAR, and elsewhere. In Open Country, a blended memoir about her 2016 thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail and the politics of free movement in the U.S., is forthcoming.
