V.C.R is a multidisciplinary singer, songwriter, composer, violinist, and writer. Born into a musical family in Memphis, she was classically trained in violin and gospel choir beginning at the age of five. She is the author of The Creative Black Woman’s Playbook and is a featured collaborator on André 3000’s debut solo record New Blue Sun. Her album The Chronicles of a Caterpillar: The Egg was released on Leaving Records in 2022. As a storyteller, she uses amalgamations of her rich Southern gospel roots and orchestral training to produce songs rooted in vulnerability and truth.
