Alice Randall is the author of Black Bottom Saints (Amistad), now out in paperback. She is a professor and writer-in-residence at Vanderbilt University, where her courses include Black Country, Country Lyric in American Culture, and Black Detroit. She hosts the Black Bottom Saints podcast, which is a weekly whirl of music, politics, and cocktails, and helped curate the Black Bottom Saints playlist on Spotify.
